Welcome to Day 3 of the holiday blog! Today was market visiting day, and this morning after another amazing breakfast at the hotel, we made our way to Chatuchak Weekend Market. Chatuchak weekend market is the largest market in Thailand, and one of the largest in the world, with over 8000 stalls, separated into 27 sections. The sections help identifying the products that will be sold, so if you looking for something specifically it is a bit easier to find!

Today was another hot day in Bangkok, and inside the market it was very hot! You really look forward to finding a store that has air conditioning for the slight relief from the heat! The selection in the shops are amazing, and the prices are really cheap! A pair of nice shorts are around R50-R60 after you convert them, and have had to buy many pairs for this heat!

Once again the Mango Sticky rice was very good, and had to take a picture this time! 🙂

After we finished at the Weekend Market, we made our way back to the hotel for a quick break and for the afternoon tea. The high tea is fantastic, and the hotel really goes out of the way to make you feel super important!

After a short break, we made our way out for Birthday dinner at an Italian Restaurant called Lido. The food was very yummy and it was a lovely birthday dinner, thanks mom!!

After dinner we made our way to the Patpong night market. The Patpong night market was a little disappointing as the market sellers are very aggressive and invasive of your space, desperate to sell you something! This is a very different experience from the other markets. Patpong is also infamous for its “alternative” night life which is night clubs / go go clubs which offer a range of entertainment options in the form of a menu.. most of them trying to sell you a ping pong show.. which involves ping pong balls been shot of body parts they shouldn’t be… Mom tells me this and ill have to take her word for it 😉

An alternative night market has opened up on the main road and was much more pleasant than the night market, full of stores selling food and various items. The amount of food you can buy in the markets is crazy, you certainly will not go hungry! All in all it was another great day!
