Holiday Day 5: Day At Sea!

October 15th, 2008 by francis Leave a reply »

Today was the 3rd day of the cruise, and the first of our 3 sea days. A sea day, pretty much is a do as little as possible day on the boat

Tonight was the first of the formal evenings, and the captains cocktail party (free drinks on the captains account!) and we got to meet the captain, who when asked if I can drive the boat, unfortunately he said “Drive? No! But visit, Yes!” so might just take him up on that offer!

Tonight is the first night of the “Vegas” style shows that the boat will have on during this cruise, they are usually pretty good, even though we have seen some of them before, they are still entertaining.

Tommorow morning bright and early we will be arriving in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and we will be doing the “Dubrovnik by Land and Sea tour” and then will go walk around the old city in the afternoon. Croatia was involved in a massive civil war up until as recently as 1992, and they have managed to rebuild it and they are now very proud of the country, and welcome tourists (with a pretty expensive Visa for South Africans, but that’s a whole different story)

Anyway, nothing else to write for this blog entry, there will be a full post again tomorrow night after Dubrovnik

Cheers for now

Chow (And yes mom, Chow is the correct spelling.. in Croatian!)

PS. Feel free to leave comments so I know people are actually reading and I’m not typing to myself :)

Maybe so, but the first post was done in Italy! Looks great, but WAIT until you see Venice. It will be even better than you imagine! If you have time, take a water taxi to Murano, the island where they make the beautiful Venitian glass.
